Why I built VewMe

By Tim Branyan, Founder of VewMe

Published · Updated

Quick answer: I built VewMe because creators, nonprofits, artists, clubs, and teams have been underpaid and undervalued for far too long. VewMe gives them a branded platform they actually own, on their own domain, with 80 to 90 percent of the revenue in their pocket, so they can grow, earn, and connect the way they always deserved to.

Why I'm writing this

I care about people. That's the honest answer. I've spent my career building software that helps real humans earn a living and hit real goals, and I've seen up close how much of a difference it makes when the tools finally get out of the way. VewMe is my attempt to build the tool I wish every creator, organization, and community leader already had.

A little about me

I'm a US Air Force veteran and I've been building software for over 13 years. Before VewMe, I built and ran a creator monetization platform that generated millions in revenue and paid out millions to creators around the world. I've mentored founders through small-business development programs, worked across government and private-sector technology, and spent time on the operator side of SaaS, e-commerce, and the creator economy.

Along the way I met dance studio owners, youth-sports coaches, nonprofit directors, musicians, podcasters, coaches, and entrepreneurs. Different worlds, same story: they were doing the real work, and someone else was taking the biggest cut.

What I've seen go wrong

Creators have been underpaid and undervalued. Organizations have been forced to rent an audience they should own. Nonprofits pour hours into platforms that keep the donor relationship for themselves. Artists build a following on a network that can change the rules overnight. Clubs and teams stitch together five tools to do one job. It's exhausting, and it's not fair.

The old social and community platforms were built to keep people inside their walls, not to grow yours. The result is a creator economy where the people creating the value take home the smallest slice of it. That has to change.

The VewMe vision

VewMe flips the old model upside down. Instead of you fitting into someone else's platform, the platform fits around you. Your colors. Your logo. Your domain. Your member list. Your rules. Whether you're a nonprofit running a monthly giving circle, an artist selling limited drops, a car club charging dues, a church running a paid mentorship, a youth sports team selling film review, a musician hosting a paid rehearsal-room stream, or a coach running a private community, you should be able to launch without asking anyone's permission.

And you should keep the money. On VewMe, creators keep 80 to 90 percent of what they earn, with payment processing already included. No hidden line items. No surprise cuts.

Who this is for

A dance studio selling class packs. A nonprofit running a monthly giving circle. A youth sports team charging for film review. A car club collecting dues. A musician hosting a paid rehearsal stream. A coach running a private community. A podcaster launching a members-only feed. A church supporting its outreach programs. A school connecting with alumni. Every one of them deserves a branded home that treats them like an owner, not a tenant.

What I promise

  • Strictly SFW. Always. It's safe for your brand, your family, and your organization.
  • Transparent fees. No hidden processing fees layered on top.
  • Your list is yours. Export it any time.
  • A real human team behind the product.
  • A platform that treats you like the owner you are.

Where to start

VewMe is free forever on Starter. Upgrade only when the math works for you. The goal isn't to squeeze you at signup, it's to help you build something that lasts and pays you what you're worth.

If you've ever felt underpaid or undervalued for the work you do, this platform was built for you. I'd love to see what you build on it.

Frequently asked questions

Who is Tim Branyan?

Tim Branyan is the founder of VewMe. He is a US Air Force veteran and a longtime software builder and operator in the creator economy. Before VewMe he built and ran a creator monetization platform that generated millions in revenue and helped pay out millions to creators around the world.

Why did Tim start VewMe?

To give creators, nonprofits, artists, clubs, teams, and organizations a platform they actually own, on their own domain, with their own member list, and with a fair keep-rate. The traditional social and community platforms have kept too much of the value, and too much of the audience, for too long.

What kinds of groups is VewMe built for?

Independent creators, podcasters, musicians, fitness coaches, course creators, and educators, plus nonprofits, churches, schools, dance studios, youth sports teams, car clubs, community groups, and brands. If you have people who value what you do, VewMe is built for you.

How is VewMe different from Patreon, Skool, Circle, or OnlyFans?

You run on your own custom domain, keep 80 to 90 percent of what you earn, own and can export your member list, and stay strictly SFW so brands, families, and organizations can join without hesitation. See /compare for a side-by-side.
